I took keto for granted 😢

That’s Awesome!
I got the nickname in College, and it stuck!

I actually have an Autographed Photo from William Shatner that he signed ā€œTo Kirk, From Kirkā€

Kirk Out!

Been struggling the last few days and so it’s been helpful for me to read this thread and be reminded that I’m not alone

#64

I do a cheat day once a month, I feel fine the next day and I usually don’t get kicked out of ketosis no matter how many carbs I eat. I’ve been doing keto for almost a year now, so maybe that has something to do with it. I didn’t start having cheat days until the 6 month mark.

Also, eating 12 chocolate bars in a row would make anyone sick, keto or not.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #65

You are definitely not alone. We are all on the same journey!

Dip that Trader Joe’s Absolute Black (The smoothest least bitter high quality chocolate ever!) in unsweetened peanut butter! Yum! (or you can add a little erythritol to it). For me personally, eating keto friendly sweets is what makes it possible for me to sustain the keto diet long term. I craved at first, but each time I wanted to cheat I turned to some homemade keto chocolate chip cookies or a fat bomb. It is actually what has made keto possible for me. I guess it’s the only reason I feel like this is lifetime sustainable… Because I don’t feel deprived. (When i started, I didn’t think this keto thing could possibly be a lifetime thing. Now this is what I want!)

Hmmm, it should be illegal to change your avatar.

(Ellie) #68

Agreed - @Regina confuses me often by changing piccies!! But, the pics are always very cute so she is forgiven!

You could try that trick with syrup or chocolate sweetened with sorbitol or maltitol (or even just drain cleaner) and see if the spectacular after-effects affect your binging reflex… :toilet:

(Keto Victory) #70

So what have your 6 cheat days featured??

#71

Good for you. Yeh we are all so different. I can’t do a cheat day once a week/month etc. Just triggers a binge.

[/quote]And nope…Again…we are not all the same. before I was keto i could easily eat 12 bars and more!! in one sitting and not feel sick. Just never made me ill. I’d have stopped if it did obviously. But…it didn’t.

(Empress of the Unexpected) #72

Just keepin everyone on their toes!

Restaurants: American, Italian, Mexican, Chinese

I also made a couple meals at home like chicken strips with mashed potatoes & corn / and I made chicken tortilla soup one time.

Usually each cheat day had some candy and ice cream sprinkled throughout the day. :stuck_out_tongue:

October’s cheat day will be a trip to The Cheesecake Factory

(Nimitta) #74

I’ve made keto treats with cacao powder and sweeteners. They more than satisfy any chocolate urge I may have, and I don’t feel the urge to binge on them at all.

(Mike W.) #75

I like to dip it in coconut butter.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #76

I got so sick chain-smoking one night in college that I never smoked again.

On the other hand, I’ve gotten sick drinking many times—it just means there’s room for more!

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #77

What you do in the privacy of your home is your business . . .

#78

:rofl: yeh if I did get sick from chocolate… I’d be the same… just room for more :woman_shrugging:t2:

#79

Chocolate is definitely my kryptonite. Once I get a taste …BOOM bag gone. Never get sick either, just feel regret.

(Keto Victory) #80

Wow. That’s real cheating! Not just looking at an unopened jar of peanut butter or a beer on TV…

(Keto Victory) #81

Have you tried ExLax?
