I took keto for granted 😢

(Frank) #21

Well I guess that won’t work then will it. Ha.

As long as they are unopened and not expired, you should give them to your local food bank. Somebody’s kids will love it. Not “wasted” and not wrecking your diet.

Sugar addiction is a b!tch! I have a family birthday party tomorrow. I promised that I would try to bring a Dessert for my sister-in-law and niece (Whole 30) & my Aunt and I (Keto). I’m worried because I haven’t had sweets or sweeteners for 2 months. And I will be around cupcakes and candy…not sure I’d stop at 12!

(Diane) #24

Not there yet.

#25

Only bring as many sweet treats as you need so there is no temptation for seconds.

Its the beginning of my family birthday season…pretty much every week till the end of the year and I am the cake Baker…it’s going to be tough not to sample

#26

Not sure I’ll ever be there! And I love me some chocolate

(Diane) #27

I gave my carbage to my nieces (who don’t eat ketogenically). They were grateful and I was grateful to have it out of my house and useful to someone else.

#28

stay strong :muscle:t2: I’m about 3 days after falling off the wagon. I’m still craving carbs sooooo bad :cold_sweat: the cravings were non existent pre binge and even after feeling awful the last few days…physically and mentally…I’m desperately trying to fight off cravings here. It’s such a vicious cycle… eat crap…feel like crap…crave more crap…have more crap…feel like crap…crave more crap etc:tired_face:
You could make a keto cheesecake  guilt free indulgence

(Running from stupidity) #29

Yeah, same. Cleared out the pantry (i.e. one of the cupboards downstairs in the apartment) of all the pasta sauce, honey, muesli, tomato sauce, etc., etc. and dumped it on my sister.

#30

Ahh, dude! So sorry you are going through that! Very good reminder for all of us that we can fall off the wagon in a big way and it will affect us adversely.

#31

I have never eaten a 5# chocolate bar, but… I used to shop at a store where they broke the 5# bar into chunks and saran-wrapped each piece, and I would look for the largest pieces and buy them, and then gnaw on them until gone! Sheesh!

(Ken) #32

Here goes the Heretical response again. If you’re adapted you can eat them. With conditions. Fast 24 hours before and do some type of exercising before you eat’em. You want to create a glycogen demand in your system. Eat as much of them you want at that one time. After eating them, Fast until actually hungry again.

The same strategy works for Holidays.

Myself, I’d just eat them and make sure I didn’t’ eat significant carbs for a couple of days…

#33

I don’t disagree with @240lbfatloss at all, in fact, just had a carb-rich night myself. But it has been a month since my last one, and I have been thinking of pork bibimbap with black rice from my favorite Korean takeout for several days now and it was a nice treat. (I don’t fast before, but I find fasting afterward works well for me.)

However, a dozen boxes of Oreo pudding isn’t the kind of thing anyone can eat (in a healthy state of mind, anyway) in one or even two or three sittings. A dozen boxes of Oreo pudding supports a regular habit, not a single craving event, if you know what I mean. And I guess it depends on whether you love Oreo pudding enough to make it your special occasional carby food that you make planned allowances for. If it’s not the Oreo pudding, it could be something else instead. Just sayin.’

As for the wasting issue, it’s either the actual trash can, or your body becomes the trash can. Or give it away as others have said, that’s a great solution! (p.s. I’m not buying the fiancee excuse )

#34

Couldn’t agree more! @Roy_D_Rushing_Jr, you’ll probably find the pudding doesn’t give you the satisfaction it once did. That happened to me with sweets.

Only if you hate them.

(Hyperbole- best thing in the universe!) #35

It goes either to waste or to waist.

#36

very clever, love it!

#37

been there, done that. we all go through it at some point, I think it’s just hormones tugging at us. hardest thing in the world is to get back on and stay focused, good for you being successful!

(Anne-Marie Vandeschoor) #38

Are you sure it was REAL chocolate ? I’ve seen a brand quoted here. I once saw that too. Scary. Nothing in common with real chocolate. If you want to cheat, please, do it properly so you can really enjoy it and keep the quality high. I can’t stop being amazed by the unbelievable junk that’s sold in U.S. supermarkets…

#39

Oh it was just crap cheap Irish chocolate. See I didn’t ‘plan’ to cheat, I had no intentions of ever cheating. they were just hanging around the house. I had to cut out all sweetners and my old favorite Lindt 90% cocoa a while ago because they kept my cravings going. Its been a while since I had anything sweet and ‘thought’ I was safe enough and had sweetener in my coffee that morning which I think triggered me reaching for the bars

(Running from stupidity) #40

I gave mine to my sister
