I think my scale is lying

I started keto at 184 pounds , was strict keto for about 3 1/2 months and was 154- so lost 30 pounds (yay!) then I started cheating on weekends but was still keto during the weeks - don’t do it , it definitely messes you up and you feel like poop all the time- I stayed at 154 this whole time which I was fine with - it was like 3 weeks. Now I’m back on struck keto - officially one week back at it. My weightvthis morning said 151 :scream: I think the scale is lying or something because 3 pounds in one week is a lot. Is it water weight? I hope I don’t gain it back or I’ll be super sad

Lots of factors that can make your weight vary by a few pounds day to day. Time of day, water, fasting, food, etc. I ignore the scale for the most part and go by how I feel/look. Maybe weigh yourself month to month. But then again I’m not a cheater like you!

Just wanted to say good for you! I started Keto 7 weeks ago at 186 lbs My goal is to each 150 lbs. I lost 14 pounds in the first 4 weeks! I was euphoric that something was finally working!!! I know such a rapid weight lost is water but it is fine I had lots of water to loose and clothes are starting to feel looser. I have hit a plateau for 3 weeks now… Did you also hit a plateau? If so for how long and did you do something different to move it out? Tks for the input also about the cheating… I am hoping one day I’ll be able to have a thin crust pizza on occasion and wine! But from your post I will have to maintain it strict expect rare occasions. Better be prepared.

I platued and so I started cheating , I’m not sure maybe that helped that I cheated ??? Maybe it tricked my body and kinda did a reset . I did do a fast yesterday - didn’t eat from 11 pm Saturday until 6 pm Sunday. Wasn’t intentionally I just was busy . I’m hoping I can lose at least another 10 pounds but I’m at a healthy BMI now so it’s going to be harder .

All scales lie, all the time. Not just yours.

Best to measure your success by other means like the tape measure, before and after pics, etc.

As I’ve mentioned in other threads, not only does my scale give different readings depending on how I stand, it also gives varying readings each time, even if you stand the same way. It used to bother me, now I get on it just to have a laugh. By shifting my stance, I can get the reading to vary by as much as 20 lbs.(9.1 kg), and I once “lost” 5 lbs. simply by taking a shower.

Of course, weight loss is so non-linear and hormonally driven that it can drive you crazy to try to predict changes. Sometimes I eat nothing and weigh several pounds more the next day; yesterday I was very hungry and ate a lot of extra food and weighed two pounds less this morning!
