I think I screwed up

(Bonaria Bustamante) #1

So 4 days ago I ate a lasagna, mainly because I’m still working on my food addiction you can say, but I’ve been following keto I think it’s now 6 weeks, and I had been doing very very well. Well the day after such eaten lasagana it was horribly, I felt like I had rocks in my stomach, a killer headeache and didn’t really want to eat anything. I was feeling pretty guilty because even to a recent trip to NYC I didn’t give in to any temption around me and kept keto and even lost 7lbs on top of the 17lbs I had already lost since starting, but now I feel off, I’m still keeping keto, had broth, plenty of water keeping my electrolytes in check and so on but I feel off, I also naturally gained back 4lbs back :woman_facepalming: … is there anything else I can do to get back to that happy place? …

Give it time. It usually takes me about 5 days to get back to that happy place when I cheat on keto. Makes you think twice about doing it next time.

Also try a short fast, this will help reduce inflammation and burn through any glycogen stores you might have built up.

Thank you

KCKO - Just start back next meal - and add more salt and maybe try IF.

+1 KCKO… Don’t worry and remember the next time. Revert back to keto. As said, you could try a fast to help but it will be more difficult now than before. Most of the 4lbs is water weight and will fall off in a day or so of resuming a keto woe.

Stop beating yourself up. You fell, dust yourself up and go back on the horse.

You might be judging yourself, but nobody here is judging you, so please try not to beat yourself up—unless you enjoy that sort of thing, of course! There’s a whole section of the forum here called “Getting Back on the Horse,” so you’re definitely not alone.

I’ve found with my sugar/carb addiction that it’s better not to eat any than to try to eat a little and stop. The exception is leafy green vegetables, which don’t seem to trigger me. But if I were in your shoes, I probably wouldn’t have stopped with just one lousy lasagna—there’d be Krispy Kremes and Dunkin Donuts calling my name, for sure! So I’m glad you’re back eating keto. Keep up the good work. Here’s some virtual bacon to encourage you: :bacon: :bacon: :bacon: :bacon:

Back on the horse? I would get back on the bacon. Hahah

:bacon:

I’m def back on that bacon! I feel soooo much better, I did not want to waste any time, this WOE is the only thing in my whole life that is actually working. Yes, I know I’ve had a setback but even with that this has been easier to manage than my life of being over weight. And thank you all for your good advice

My mistake! HAHAHA! Get back on the pig

I’m glad you’re feeling this way, it will help you KCKO. Yay for you, and have another piece of bacon on me! :bacon:
