I refer to my eating as a Fat Enabled Diet. Why, there is way to much data out there on Keto that I consider to be false or at least misleading. Until I found this forum I was totally mis-informed.
When I started on Keto, I was eating 40% protein, 10% carbs and 50% fat. Life was a challenge.
Today I am eating 80% fat, 15-20% protein, and 0-5% carbs with a 30% reduction in total calories.
When I made this change it took me 6 weeks to burn all the stored sugars in my body. Once I came out of this the weight loss began in earnest. Soon after this, my “diet” became a lifestyle.
For the first time in my life, I no longer feel like a food junkie. I have my coffee with cream and generally eat one meal a day and maybe a snack. I am rarely hungry and have zero urges or cravings.
Up until 6 weeks ago I weighed and logged everything I ate. I finally quit this. It is no longer needed. Since then I have lost 15 pounds. I also no longer test to see if I am in ketosis.
Right now my weight is the lowest it has been in 10 years. I still need to lose about 50-60 additional pounds. I feel totally empowered as a person who eats a fat enabled diet.
