I need help!

I’ve been doing keto since October. Had a few ups and downs but hit my first mini goal in my weight loss this month (20 lbs down) I don’t have a ton to loose and my ultimate goal is just around the corner (30lbs total) Last week I started to add in a little more carbs and thought I would just ease into loosing the last 10 lbs. That has been a huge mistake! I’m spiraling out of control! Eating carbs all day long. It’s like I’m out if my body and it happens before I have even thought it thru. I feel like an addict that has fallen off the wagon. I need an intervention and some inspiration. Help me keto family!

I feel ya. Carb addiction. It’s a thing. The same thing happens to me. Best not to play with fire, I’ve found.
Just hop back on that wagon. It might take a few days but you will adjust and the cravings will subside. Maybe indulge in rich savory delicious keto foods that make you feel like you’re doing something naughty.

Ugh I am such a carb addict, it’s real! I feel for you. I have to totally abstain for this reason. It stinks but it’s the hand we were dealt, oh well!

Make a package of bacon, eat the whole thing. Make all your favorite keto foods & for the next three days or a week eat as much of them as you like whenever you want. Knowing you can eat as much as you want whenever you want (but only keto foods!!) might trick your addicted brain into thinking it’s getting what it wants while you get back on the keto train. Good luck!!

When I fall of the diet I do 3 things that really help me cut the carb cravings quickly

1 - FAST for 36 hrs
2 - Exercise
3 - Eat Zero Carb when I do eat.

The quicker you can kill the craving the better.

When I eat sugar and carbs, they make me hungry. In an hour or two, I’m hungry again. It is crazy. Arrrrggghhhhh! I just have to stay away from them. I don’t have things like ice cream in the house. For myself, fasting broke the carb addition and I learned too that I could go days without food and be okay. It was enlightening.

Thanks everyone! I’m off work today and am headed to the store to restock all my keto favorites. My major hurdle is at work, a constant flow of sweets and carb filled snacks, I never thought of myself as having a sweet tooth but man it’s been a tough week. I struggle with changing my mindset of “I can’t” to “I don’t want” but somehow I did it for months! Reading in this forum helps. Thank you all for your support!

Adding foods (carbs) has failed me twice on Atkins. That’s why I’m Keto and net 10 carbs a day until further notice…

I love the restriction.

Exactly, Atkins works…if you don’t leave the induction stage. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Telling people they can add carbs back in slowly is extremely hard for people to do. I’ll just add one donut today. Two tomorrow, a dozen on day three.

@K9luvr don’t worry about one day of falling off the wagon. Just go back to Keto foods and you’ll be fine. Last night I had 6 different Hostess cake things and a glazed bow tie donut. Mistake? Yes. Will it undo all my progress? No.

I’m not doing anything different to get back in ketosis, just giving regular Keto eating for a couple days to do its thing and I’ll be right back to being a lean mean ketone burning machine soon enough.

One can simply follow the plan. Bring on the fat!

Atkins nut rung damn you!

I agree with all this comments…I have regained 10 lbs since I tried to put more carbs in my diet…it just triggers me to eat more keto friendly food but in massive quantities to a point that its over 50g of carbs …only so much fat I can burn rights?..I don’t crave sugar doughnuts (thanks God:):relieved::fearful:. but I do have to fight my food binging. I still LOVE:):kissing_heart::star_struck: keto. even with my problems with food this is still the best “diet” ever. My main advice here is to keep working on yourself. this is a life time commitment and there really is no finish line…just better life. Period.

You could try macadamia nuts and pork rinds for work snacks if you must have them. But when you eat, eat Keto to satiation (completely full), and you should be good to go for 10+ hours.
