I missed 2 graduations thanks to lockdown

(Richard Morris) #1

My graduation ceremony in 2020 for my Biochem undergrad was cancelled

And this years ceremony for capping it off with honours was also cancelled.

I guess that’ll teach me for finishing my courses in the middle of winter during a respiratory virus pandemic. But not to worry I still received the degrees.

Also the university sent me a youtube video of the chancellor and vice virtually conferring the degree. So I got that going for me which is cool

Congratulations for both, Richard! Both are fantastic achievements. I am sorry for you to have missed the celebrations, but well done on the accomplishments!

(Bob M) #3

That is a bummer, but a great accomplishment. And you’re on to Master’s, aren’t you?

(Joey) #4

@richard Hearty congratulations. It’s a wonderful feeling to reach well-earned milestones! :+1:

Congratulations, Richard!!

Congratulations! We’re all proud of you!

(Vic) #7

Congratulations, Richard :sunglasses:

Congratulations Richard!! Your change of direction and high level nerdiness make me proud to call you a fellow keto nut and Canberran. I’m here reading a second hand copy of Lehninger and pondering the future.
In short, WELL DONE!!!

Congratulations!

I missed my son’s gf graduation for her masters degree at my alma mater last year. Was so looking forward to going back to the university I graduated from 36 years ago. It is a beautiful campus (Texas A&M).

It is quite an accomplishment I am sure you are proud.

Congrats, Richard. :+1:

(Cris Cavanaugh) #11

Your determination is an example to all. Congratulations!

(Brad Cady) #12

Very cool, and congratulations.

(Ethan) #13

I didn’t realize your initials were RAM–no wonder you got into tech.

(kovack) #14

Sincere congratulations to you, Richard! You have fans cheering your accomplishments from around the world!

(Richard Morris) #15

I think I predated random access memory … maybe they named the RAM after me

(Walter Houser) #16

Congratulations. I can’t resist saying “Now show me the science!” :slightly_smiling_face:

(Ethan) #17

I forget how old you are, but RAM invented in 1967. You could still have chosen your career on it I think.

(Doug) #18

It’s a question - Paul McCartney, born in 1942, was involved.

And the Edsels recorded “RAMa Lama Ding Dong” in 1961.

(Doug) #20

Did the writer Arthur C. Clarke get in on that?
