I made corned beef/cabbage in the crockpot for my family and added 1 carrot and 1 potato for the carbivores. How do I add more fat for me? Butter?

I will only eat the meat and a little cabbage but what do you add to the meal so you feel like you gave yourself enough fat and feel satisfied?

Add butter to the bowl?

#2

Yes, butter or mayonnaise or some other fat-based concoction.

I find that corned beef has more than enough fat to satisfy. Everybody else thinks it’s too fatty.

Homemade mayo mixed with mustard. It’s all fat with no carbs.

Butter and or some double creme (hwc) added to pretty much anything to up the fat and make the dish, well decadent imo.
Oh and I do like a good corned beef.

I made a pseudo “Russian” dressing by mixing some paleo ketchup into some mayo for my Reuben yesterday - it would work just as nicely on a pile of plated meat.

I made some thousand island dressing with mayo, keto ketchup and chopped pickles. It was perfect!

Boy all these suggestions are wonderful! Thank you so much!

I have noticed that if I add more fat to my meat I don’t get the cravings for carbs. It has only taken me a year to learn this the hard way!

Oooh…maybe take some melted butter, mix it with a spicy dijon and slather that all over your corned beef?

(adding corned beef to the grocery list)

Reminds me, I should do the grilled cabbage (slathered in butter, wrapped in foil) on the BBQ again one day soon. I’ll pair it with the corned beef.

Add nothing :flushed::joy:

When in doubt, do what I do, just eat a couple pads of butter :grinning:

It’s Easy, no mess, no recipe needed.

Or melted w mustard like others mentioned
But I like the quick butter “ fix “…butter straight up, yummy

Enjoy
