Title says it all. Me, a paleo/keto advocate am really good friends with a raw vegan. He’s pretty lean like me but I’m of coarse 3x stronger, strength aside we are good friends because we share constructive feed back to one another and share the same end goal to better our health for longevity and happiness. We started our health journies one month apart from each other so we have both changed our lifestyles for 4 years now and plan to do so for our rest of our lives. Speaking about constructive feedback, we both have given each other tips that we have inherited, For instance he warned me about not using a microwave and not over cooking my meat. Ever since then I have grown a passion for rare steak and avoiding microwaves. I warned him about combining certain vegan protein sources to create full chained amino acids for his bodies amino acid pool and have had him focus on removing phytates by soaking his beans. While he says his body responds better to not consuming animal products, he adds that he can’t just switch to eating animals over night and maybe later in life he will experiment by adding a few organ meats to his diet. On my hand, I have to admit I have impressed myself with how much of a difference I have noticed with my body since I cut out grain fed animal fat and switched over too lean meat. wild caught sardines, collagen/organ meat sources, and pea protein as my main proteins too add to my big plate of veggies. I have to admit there was something that felt a little unnatural with eating so much fat and too few veggies and protein when I started. Most of all my gym performance has now reached a harmony of constant strength gain every year than when I started a true ketogenic diet. Of coarse I would never go vegan I told him, but I do emphasize getting a lot of my diet from the plant kingdom and the animal kingdom “nose to tail of coarse (:” I wish vegans were more like him, focusing on perfecting a diet and health with out stubbornness tied to identifying yourself. Now do I agree with everything he says? Of coarse not! But the best knowledge is attained from knowing counter arguments to knowledge.
I’m friends with a raw vegan
One of my best friends is vegan, and she eats “keto vegan”. I got her to do IFing and she has had great success. We encourage each other all the time. She even has an occasional wild caught salmon from time to time and when her husband goes hunting, she will eat that meat. She is a buddhist and simply doesn’t believe in anything having to suffer unnecessarily.
I think it is great when people can have different views and still get along well. We need more of that in the world right now.
I’m glad you and your buddy can share experiences in such a mature manner.
I stopped because I noticed microwaving leaves food tasting like leather. Microwaving meat why when I have an awesome air fryer.
Not because I Actaully believe microwaves truely turn food into carcinogens (unless you cook the shit out of something) but I do make sure to keep distance from me and the microwave if I ever use it to defrost some meat or in a pinch to use those ready steam veggies.
I have an air fryer too luv it!
It is said microwaves kill every thing in the food… I can see how that could be possible.
The guy who invented the microwave was very obese? He actually designed the one small part that makes it possible to make microwaves.
Very true! I mean to imply I’m very unsure of microwaving is safe. I’d rather be on the safe side and avoid it.
