I play cards every week with a lady (mid 70s) who has been diabetic for almost 20 years. In recent years she has had heart problems, and now wears a BG monitor. She is not over weight, but her diet is sh*tty - the regular ADA recommendations of high carbs, etc, and constant snacking…
Of late I’ve been very aware that I hear her breathing. And she does not have a cold or allergies. It is noticeable. That can’t be a good sign.
Or a low-grade, generalized infection from chronically elevated insulin levels.
Or all of the above, when you get right down to it, right?
