I feel tired when my ketones get to 2.5, anyone else feel that way?

I’ve been on Keto for almost 8 months and it has helped me go from three seizures a day to once a month!

I have noticed though that when I’m more strict on the diet and my ketones get up to 2.5 on the Blood test, I am often feeling completely fatigued.

I feel better in the 1.5 range.

I also want to note that I exercise about 7-9 hours a week.

Could it be a blood sugar thing? or do I just need to make sure I get some carbs (like before a work out?)

Have you tried drinking some ketoaide and see if you feel better?

Due to your seizures I am completely out of my element, but will post what I would say and you can decide if that works for your situation. But sounds like electrolytes to me, so would say need more salt.

My understanding is that the higher your ketone levels, the more your body has trouble hanging onto fluids and electrolytes. I would suggest experimenting with adding more electrolyte supplementation, especially salt.

Good luck!

Wow! thank you everyone for your prompt input, I really appreciate it.
I do drink ketogenic electrolyte water, and I am a salt fiend, I love the REALSALT brand. But I maybe I do need to add more, it has been a hot summer. I’m a little embarrassed to say that after starting the keto diet, I’ve been having accidents while running (which freaked me out at first, but I guess it’s not abnormal) and try to plan my hydration around that. Maybe I need to just to up my water intake.
