I did not eat carbs

But I’m getting a sensation I always get when I eat too much carbs. Or at least I always blamed the carbs before, now I don’t know what to blame it on!

Anyone else get restless leg? For years I’ve gotten it and could always point to a big meal of carbs just before the restless leg episode as the probable culprit. I know correlation does not equal causality but it was so close!

I haven’t eaten carbs except for the what’s in the HWC, egg, mayo, cheese, pepperoni, and Zevia, 'cause that’s all I’ve eaten today.

Ug. It feels like my legs are trying to crawl out of their skin.

If I sit most of the time, the backs of my legs (the hamstring area) will get a weird feeling, like they are vibrating, almost like they have a nervous mind of their own. Makes me want to contract the muscles voluntarily, to relieve the odd feeling. This may not be true “restless leg syndrome.” Eating carbs or not doesn’t affect it, as much as I can tell.

I just posted this on another thread earlier today: I get crazy painful/achy legs every time I cut down on caffeine. Any chance that’s what’s going on?

(Aimee Moisa) #4

Sadly nope. I had my regular ration of caffeine today.

Restless leg can be caused by low potassium or magnesium. Do a search on the forums to learn about supplementing these. You do have to be somewhat careful about keeping sodium, potassium, and magnesium in balance, or bad things can happen, and I’m just not up on all the details.

No one seems to have all the details. Makes me feel like getting my electrolytes balanced is going to require a Santero, a few chickens, sea shells, and a very sharp knife.

The ritual works better if you starch and iron your robe first! And just one word about the candles: sandalwood!

Wait, I thought we weren’t supposed to consume starch on keto?

My thought here would be low magnesium and/or potassium. I have had that issue a little bit myself, but after I upped my mag intake, it doesn’t really bother me anymore.
