Type 2 diabetes: NHS to offer 800-calorie diet treatment http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-46363869

Yes a 800 cal diet will work as carb intake will be low in terms of Cals, of course they do not say this. Nor do they say that this is totally unsustainable !

“The NHS pound will go further if the food industry also takes action to cut junk calories and added sugar and salt from processed food, TV suppers and fast-food takeaways,” Mr Stevens said.

This is the dumbest quote in the entire article. How about just stop with the processed and takeaways. Teach people how anatomy and physiology works and how food interacts with the body.

There is no way folks can sustain on an 800 calorie diet or shakes forever. So you never chew solids again? This plan encourages yo-yo losses and gains, further damaging bodies.

And in yo-yo people tend to go higher back up ?

Yup. It’s so darn stupid. Like the “Holy shit, people are getting fat, let’s take the actual fat out of everything.”

We know how that worked out.

Wouldn’t it be great if someone could convince NHS to use Keto as a comparative diet at the same time?

Who runs the NHS? Ancel Keys’ grandson?

Have they read any of the modern results about such feeding plans?

This is almost comical.
