I can’t believe I’ve been doing this all wrong!

I regard this nutritional journey in the Hermetic sense: I am the experiment, the scientist and the laboratory.
“Making mistakes” is a natural part of the process, the understanding I gain from them becomes more deeply embedded than theory.
I often adjust my “protocols,“ & I always keep my eyes on the outcome—Health & Vitality and my memory on the debilitated state of my health one year ago.
Wishing you continuing success on your journey!

are ketones negatively impacted when shifting to one meal a day, would like to know if nutritional ketosis is still achievable?

(Full Metal KETO AF) #23

@ketoisland That should raise ketones I believe, but only if you’ve been eating ketogenic long enough to be fat adapted. :cowboy_hat_face:

im looking for some more hard info, if you haven’t tested that is ok, i just personally havnt tested it yet by shifting the load into one meal, when i spoke to stephen phinney he also hasn’t test protein loads on various timings Paleomedicina sees a large issue with many people over consuming protein running a glucose based system, while blood sugars are stable the insulin load spiking up enough changes the game.

But which insulin? beta cell pancreatic or liver insulin (IGF-1)?

IGF-1 can appear to do some magical stuff like eating ground up antlers of rain deer i.e. pure IGF-1 (people have died playing with it) will do the exact same-thing as eating just meat or over-eating meat!

People who play with eating reindeer antlers report the same as carnivores or is that just another mere coincidence like the bowel cancer thing in Polish carnivores (even that diet included some carbohydrates) 40 or so years ago?

That’s why people who go carnivore experience all these wonderful magical good things with their bio-markers (including the burning of body fat, reversing insulin resistants and diabetes etc…) but they are really playing with human growth hormone and shortening their lifespan when they play with it long-term?

To me that’s playing with some serious fire that will intimately result in a premature death when playing with it long-term…its just a matter of time?

That is why I include resistant starch and iodine balance in my carnivorous exploits! I do not over-eat protein…period!

just a reminder that there is tons of real scientific true great facts about Carnivore on the net. Don’t believe all ya read on this forum please. Research yourself and learn some real truth on it all…just wanted to say that to all who consider Carnivore long term please. Just a PSA for my eating plan  Won’t be debating it all on here!

“…It is chilling to think that mainstream scientists might be in a position to silence groups on Facebook. Good science does not work this way — it is open to scrutiny, discussion, debate . …” - Anne Mullens

Why I like this forum!

Since your advocating people just only eat meat (“proof is in the meat”) with all these “real scientific true great facts…ect.“

…I’m sure you will be keeping us up to date?

It’s so interesting to me tastebuds work so differently for other ketoers. I read that so many times before. Cabbage is sweet (in good cases, at least), it’s a vegetable, after all and one of the sweetest ones. Almost all vegetables are sweetish (and quite a few are really sweet), they always were, even when I ate sugar galore… But now, my weak black coffee is almost too sweet for me to drink (well, sweet water is sweetish and I needed the least bitter coffee and it’s weak so it’s kind of understandable. I can drink sweetened coffee but not when it’s black. It’s like a vegetable dish that’s annoyingly sweet due to the sweet veggies, it shouldn’t be sweet). But raspberries aren’t particularly sweet and I can eat very sweet food to some extent. I just need way less sweetener/sweetness now. My high-carber, cake-for-breakfast SO experienced the same and he merely stopped eating added sugar, lots of fruit still happens, he eats them each and every day (raisins are the most frequent). It’s probably partially the diminished amount of sugar and it seems added sugar changes things despite fruits have the same kinds of simple sugar. I don’t have an explanation but it happened, we both need way less sweetness now but we can’t go lower without additional efforts only I am willing to do.

But it’s surely a good idea to skip sweeteners and sweets if it’s not very hard to do (or if it is due to some addiction. That’s bad, don’t feed your cravings if possible. I don’t have cravings on keto or just when I consume close to no veggies for days. I have a special connection to them but my consumption drastically diminished so it’s subject to change too.)
It’s so time-consuming to create the best recipes for some desserts anyway. It’s a hobby for me but there are limits. Simple normal food can be super tasty too but I’m sure eating sweets is often not due some great taste. Habit, addiction, need for a bigger variety, something else… I probably always will bake cakes for others but it’s up to me if I taste them.

The new topic is interesting too, I’m just not knowledgeable enough to say much about it and nothing is particularly scientific. I am sure my adequate and occasionally a bit high (110-120g, I definitely need much less) protein intake on OMAD is just fine. I experienced ketosis on OMAD when I ate low-carb enough, it even seems my personal ketosis carb limit stayed about the same. So all the carbs at once seem to be okay as well. I can’t possibly now if I get out of ketosis for a little while, if I do, I surely feel nothing of it and get back very soon.

anyone who pops into zero carb/carnivore and asks can get some replies for sure.

but everyone is an adult and can easily access this forum they sure as heck can also hit the net and find truths about Zero Carb and what it entails and good science behind it. Nice thing is there is a ton more info to find, then say 5 yrs ago when I got here…now the internet has more and more zero and carnivore websites. Proof is just out there easily. I can answer some questions but I am not babysitting everyone thru a journey into Carnivore if that is what they prefer. If they want it we can give advice and vids to watch and websites to visit etc.

For those who desire it can seek it.

The OP’s thread got way off track…but one thing I do say for a final is don’t rely on snippets of scare tactics posted about Carnivore eating plan. Real truth and more is out there on correct science etc.

Again all I said was it was a Public Service Announcement about the truth of a full on Carnivore Eating Plan.

…And on that end note that still remains to be seen and magical thinking is not one of them?

Playing with Santa’s Rain Deer can be magical?
