I am worried about my metabolism!

My stomach getting smaller or something.

I feel full with much smaller amount of food.

And the amount of food seems to progressively getting less.

Am I getting more efficient or my metabolism will eventually figure out what’s I am doing and may decide to shutdown. Or open for limited business hours.

I think this is the natural progression of Keto for most people and why we move to fasting.

I wish this was the case for me! I keep consuming olive oil in the 100s of ml per salad and cannot seem to get enough… lately, my satiety signal is virtually non-existent. But there is definitely a sequential dimension to this, meaning there are different phases we go through, either through keto adaptation or life event that, for instance, raise stress levels.

If you get strong satiety signals around 75/20/5 macros, I wouldn’t worry about your metabolism, provided you can trust your satiety signals. Keto is especially good in resetting those signals and to re-learn to trust them.

My prime suspect is more IF than keto.
But I can not say for sure.

I agree. If I don’t do OMAD and switch to TMAD, I tend to get increased appetite. There is something to training the “fasting muscle”, it appears

Two weeks ago I have 7 kg to go weight loss wise.

I lost 2 kg in the last 5 days. Very scary. I have 5 kg more to go, but I rather gain the 2kg back than lose the 5.

I think I will not do any IF. I am really worried about loosing my appetite. Scary feeling. I think only people who lost appetite know what I mean.

I could stay a couple of days without desire to eat. And when I eat I get satisfied very quickly.

1/4 of a chicken will fill me where I used to eat full chicken.

When I started, I used to have lower back pain, and after few days of IF it went away. As soon as it went away I start to lose appetite.

I am at cross roads. But most likely will not IF until I gain back my appetite.

Thanks everyone.

If you really worry, then try to eat a bit more frequently. And definitely use fat (preferably butter, or good, healthy oils) to supplement your meals. Also, always spice your food to make it more pallatable and appealing to you. Once you truly get fat adapted and have lost weight, you will develop what Phinney calls “fat hunger”… This comes naturally as you draw down your fat storage.

I lost 8 kg within my first two weeks of keto. I was nauseated quite often and barely hit 1500kcals. Now, I consume 3,500+ kcals on a daily basis (if I’m not fasting) and NEVER feel disgusted with the food I eat. Fat hunger is developing and it takes time. Taste is habitual - give yourself some time to adjust.

Just eat a little more, or maybe have a snack (healthy) in between meals.

You adjusted your appetite down, so carefully adjust it back up if that is what you wish to do.

I accept we are all different; but I have found my weight stabilises if I eat an extra meal or even have a so called ‘cheat’ day.

But on the other hand; your weight and appetite will most likely change regularly anyway; it probably did so before you started Keto anyway; you just go so used to it you did not realise.

@AndySat
@Zimon

Many thanks for the advice.

Yes because the amount of solid food I am ingesting is getting less, I am drinking one full cup of HWC and taking 3 spoons of coconut oil a day.

I think I am fat adopted because the energy burst I get ingesting fat.

Many thanks for the support.
