Hunger vs Calories

(Dani) #1

So it seems I am at a high level of ketosis as my hunger is nearly nonexistent the past few days. I was wondering if I should still try to eat and hit a decent amount of calories or if it is not necessary?

Any ideas/thoughts? :bulb:

If you’re not hungry, don’t worry about it, if your body wanted fuel, it would tell you.

I ate the other day when I wasn’t hungry because I was worried about low calories for the day but it was a mistake & I felt queasy for hours after.

After so many years of not having signals about hunger, satiety, (or even thirst!), I’m learning that on Keto my body talks & if I’m not hungry, my body doesn’t need food.

I have plenty of strategic reserves on hand so that makes sense lol. That said, I also now eat when hungry unless I’m deliberately fasting, and this is also a novelty.

I’ve been on keto for 9 1/2 months and just in the last month or so have I found I’m often wanting to eat only about 3/4 of the amount I used to. I decided to just go with it and the result is I’m still losing weight and my energy level and mood are unchanged.

Richard said it best.

Eat when you are hungry
Mostly fat with some protein
Stop when you are full

If you aren’t feeling weak or hungry, don’t eat. Your body will tell you when it wants food.
