Hunger Monster-Tendon injury

(Samantha ) #1

In week four of keto and I have hit some road bumps. I hurt my Achilles tendon this past Saturday and am now in a walking boot for the next 4 weeks! Which also means…no yoga, walks or weight lifting. :frowning: Since I hurt my foot I have noticed I have become a hunger monster. My normal meals are not satisfying and it has been tempting to snack. I almost feel like I am craving more protein and fat than usual. I had a double cheeseburger with bacon and a salad for lunch today…and am already hungry again four hours later…and not just kind of hungry…I need to eat now of someone’s arm is getting ripped off hungry. Not good. Any ideas on how to tame the hunger monster, especially since I will be inactive for four weeks?

I think you might be better off feeding it (keto, obviously) than fighting it. This is one small bump on a long road, and you’ll probably navigate it better if you’re feeling satisfied! You’ll likely find that once you have a few meals/days of being satiated, the hunger will abate.
A recommendation for exercise while you’re healing: TTapp. She has at least one workout that you can do seated, and you’ll likely feel that it dramatically improves your yoga etc in the end(also does lovely things to your waist!).

Hungry for more fat? Eat more fat.
