How to stay keto while Traveling?

I am traveling to Japan for 10 days, any tips on packing for keto?

Interested in the responses to this thread too. Japan seems like a country where eating meat / veggies would be doable.

I’m going to Costa Rica in the summer and I’m afraid my options will be limited to fruit smoothies. :frowning: I’m already thinking about how to bring butter and pepperoni with me.

You mean like food for the flight, or Japan-specific tips?

Haven’t been since starting Keto, but I’ve heard that many ramen shops will make ramen without the noodles. And any decent place (ie, plastic food in the windows, cheap prices, etc.) would never use sugar or other nasties in the broth. ( The broths are a matter of professional pride.) So order extra egg, extra meat, butter (‘bataa ramen’ is very common & especially popular in northern Japan), hakusai (Napa cabbage - virtually no carbs) and no noodles.
Same for udon shops. Oh, and try chanko nabe - sumo wrestler food. Mostly meat, fish veggies, skip the noodles (except shirataki, of course).
Hmmm…can you guess my favorite Japanese foods? And now I’m craving good ramen…
