How so called good companies fool people

I got this from the Keto Talk FB forum and on the surface a good story about dangers of added sugar.

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2017/08/22/over-45-000-pounds-sugar-dumped-times-square-illustrates-alarming-child-health-trend/583131001/

However the compay promoting this is KIND, I have not heard about these before so checked their website, claim to be an all natural company etc. So I randomly looked at one bar - Almond and chocolate

So on this half the bar is carbs, 33% is sugar and I count what, 6 different sugars there and they do THIS campaign, jeez … of course they promote Grains all over the place.

Oh they even admit 8g of added sugars !!

Yes it is a total con and perfectly legal as well.

Everything is a lie about it, claims ingredients you can pronounce but WTF is chicory root fibre ??

Also claims low GI ha ha

then finally says good for guilt free indulgence, fuck me !! (sorry for the language but this is a total con)

Your point is very well taken as it relates to KIND’s entire product line.

However, as to the particular kids-aimed product they’re apparently launching in conjunction with this PR event…it’s their Fruit Bites which contain no added sugar, and the only ingredients are the fruit themselves. https://www.kindsnacks.com/products/fruit-bites. As a parent who struggles to get their kids to eat the right things, this*** is actually the best fruit-based on-the-go option out there given its ingredients.

*** Edit: besides real fresh fruit, of course!!!

OK just checked and your right that range is totally ‘natural’ but 18g size and 11g of sugar, would barely fill you up and fulfils the myth that fruit is 'healthy

Eating say 40g of the fruit bites gets you 25g of sugar !

Quick one way street to T2D !

The fruit without the fiber… What can go wrong?

It always boggles my mind when I go to the Health food grocery store and most of their products that are supposed to be healthy have added sugars. I suppose on a continuum of health the processed product that’s organic beats the candy bar. When is the world going to realize that sugar is poisoning us.

yep no better than fruit juice or a can of coke is it ?

Yes… Whole Food Salad dressings… Not a one without some kind of vegetable oil or corn syrup.

I am forced to make my own. Better for it I guess.

You will be but general public do not look at it this way

My eyes are getting trained to look for carbs and fiber. They tend to go right for those two. 21g of carbs, 2g of fiber. (Hear buzzer in the background.) NEXT!!

That’s nearly a whole day’s carbs. And I can’t imagine that being all I eat in a day.
