I was thinking about fasting while I’m at work so that would give me an eight hour fast and then I can eat when I get home and eat dinner. I’m just curious like what do you guys think? So my first meal of the day will probably be around 1430 p.m. and my last meal of the day will be around 1930 or 20 p.m.
How often do you guys fast
Every night when I sleep.
I eat my first meal at 1pm then my second at 4:45 pm so I can fast daily from 5pm until 1pm the next day for 20 hours fasting, -IF of 20:4. I have been doing that since early June. Then fasting days too, but I have put them on hold atm.
Just do whatever you think will work for you and you are comfortable with =). Everyone is different. It has been suggested that you don’t eat 3 hours before bed for your body to digest the food is all -but if you are up until 11pm then the times you typed seem good as well. You mean eating at 2:30 and then at 7:30 pm right? so then you would not eat from 8pm until 2:30 then next day so that is a 16:8 window, of 16 hours fasting? Or I am reading what you typed wrong? but if that is what you mean, I think that is great =).
I also like doing 48 hour and 72 hour fasts, I took a break off those atm due to severe stress at home but I plan to get back to that soon as well =).
Daily
Morning and evening
Eat around 12-1
Don’t eat after 6pm
Depending on OMAD or TMAD…up to 24 hour fast
Less than 20g carbs
That’s it…
That’s all folks
Simple
Not complicated
Yes you got it right. I don’t know I’ll try and see how it works I did it before when I did get up but I’ve gotten in the habit of eating 2 or 3 keto meals a day
I think that it sounds good to me, as it is similar to what I do and it works well for me. Good luck trying it and see how it goes =). You are doing well on your getting back on track, so that is great =).
That sounds like an excellent intermittent fast schedule. Just remember that fatty drinks like bulletproof coffee are essentially meals in a cup so if you want it to be a true fast you have to not be having any liquid calories.
I frequently try to do OMAD but it’s hard some days since I get free bacon and eggs at work and smell the bacon cooking all day lol. I also do some EF weekly like 36 hours where I skip a day of eating. Currently I’m about 60 hours fasted. I had a big dinner Monday, prime rib etc, and then just black coffee and water Tuesday and Wednesday as I was off work. Today is a work day and I expend a lot of energy working but only working an 8 hour shift today and tomorrow so hoping to go to tomorrow night.
Any fast is a good fast and it takes time to build up to the longer ones. Narrowing your eating window is the way to start and then just keep going from there.
Well, I don’t plan to fast at all. It just happens.
I usually do a 23 hour fast with just a one hour eating window. But…every so often I eat a couple times a day. Then too, I will fast 2 or 3 days just because I am not hungry.
I read somewhere that it is good to keep changing up your schedule, keep your body from getting into a routine and adapting to a schedule.
I don’t know if it is true, but making sure I really only eat when I am actually hungry has been my guide.
That sounds like a good plan, though there is evidence that finishing your eating earlier is better. I can’t do that, as dinner with the family is often late.
I am currently on a 4.5 day fast. I hope to make it to tomorrow, then eat. I will then eat probably 2 meals a day for a week, maybe a 36 hour fast on Monday of not next week but the following week. My typical schedule is to try for one 36 hour fast per week, and one 22 hour (essentially OMAD), then eat 2 meals a day, as compressed in time as I can. Often, though, I’ll eat at 10-12 or so, then eat whenever dinner is, so that could be a large window. I try to do one longer fast every quarter.
I’ve gotten used to no breakfast… So I typically fast until the afternoon. However, I do eat intuitively… So if my body ask for bacon, eggs and avocado at 9 a.m… I’ll definitely go down to the cafeteria and get some. But that’s not often.
Dr Berry just put out a brand new video on fasting… I’m going to watch it too morning at work!
