Hello all,
Just started keto about a week and a half ago and have lost about 4.5 pounds so far. Some days I gain, some I loose. Not sure if I am doing this right! Should I be loosing more weight? I feel lost and like if I am doing something wrong. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
How much weight should I be loosing?
Weight has its ups and downs. Your initial weight loss was water weight. Please give it some time. I am on week 14, and have lost 15 pounds, but it didn’t all happen the first month. Give us your height, weight, what you are eating, and the experts on the forum can give you some great advice!
Thanks!
I’m 5’7 1/2 and weigh 161.2
Today I ate only from 8am-3pm. Trying IF for today. Here is my menu:
Breakfast:
Bulletproof coffee with 1 tablespoon of mct oil and 1 tablespoon of kerrygold butter and 2 packets of sweet leaf stevia
and 2 eggs and 1 whole haas avocado
Snack:
Mozzarella string cheese organic
Dinner:
About 5oz of salmon grilled with a topping of 1 tablespoon of butter, a bit of Parmesan cheese and 1 tablespoon of dukes mayo with some spring mix salad.
Dessert: cup of coffee with 1 tablespoon of organic valley heaving whipping cream.
You;ll drive yourself mad if you weigh every day. Cut it back to about once a week at the same time (usually best time is first thing in the morning after your ablutions). It’s usually less erratic that way. I weigh about once every two weeks to a month. Once you start paying more attention to your health and the way you feel, the scale loses its significance other than mild amusement. Sounds like you’re doing well - keep it up!
Thank you! I def feel so much better I have tons of energy and no cravings! I used to crave sugar 24/7. I’ve just read how people loose so much on keto and it happens so fast…I’m worried I’m wasting time and doing something wrong.
Nah; you’re good. Just remember that weight loss is a pleasant side effect of keto - not the main attraction (despite many people being attracted to it for that reason). It’s definitely the main attraction of the side effects, though
