How much sour cream can you eat?

Hi guys, here is the thing: I have found a good, quality product that I just love and started indulging in it. I buy some 5-6 one pound containers, and eat with a spoon 1/2 to 1 container a day, every 1-2 days. When I finish all the containers, it takes me a week or two to get to the store and buy it again. What do you guys think of this? Am I crazy or what?

I could easily do that. It still adds up so you have to be careful. A full 16oz tub of sour cream is usually around 30g of carbs.

I recently discovered Mexican Style sour cream that is AWESOME. It has a bit more cultured funk than plain sour cream.

:smile: A couple liters or a half gallon, pretty easy. Not saying one should do that.

I just checked what the good guys say about their product, it’s 1g per 1oz serving, so the whole thing is 16g of carbs. And 6g of fat per oz, of which 4g is saturated, so 96 and 64, respectively, per tub. Could I be exceeding my liver capacity?

Not all sour creams have the same amount of carbs. You have to read the labels. I am planning on doing that soon to find one most carb friendly, but haven’t yet - in part because I have a dairy sensitivity and probably shouldn’t be eating too much of it at all, lol. Too bad for me. I think Trader Joe’s has 2 per serving, and Daisy something or another had half.

Various brands of cream cheese have different numbers of carbs too.

I don’t eat sour cream out of the container, but I’ve been known to make faux stroganoff, and luscious salad dressings.

As for liver capacity, I have no clue.

That’s what I did - checked the label. The numbers are what the company says on their product.

I, too, have dairy sensitivity, I had it much worth before, but when I stopped eating carbs, over time it got much better. I can now eat (cow) sour cream - a lot, as you can see! - and goat cheese, soft - chèvre, love it! and about 1/2 cup of kefir, plain, cow.

I ate two tubs (one pint) in three days. My late mother loved sour cream. Now I feel I’m becoming addicted to it. Worse thing is, she gave everything to my whale of a narcissistic sister :frowning:
