Hi, I’m planning on making some Ketoaid for the first time. How much of it are we allowed to drink per day while fasting and when not fasting?
Thanks,
Andy

I don’t think it’s about how much is allowed, but how much electrolyte your body needs. I use a formula of 24 oz water, 1/4 tsp lite salt, and 1/2 TBSP magnesium citrate. This gives 290 mg sodium, 350 mg potassium, and 75 mg magnesium. I use it because I was having leg cramps and this amount seems to keep that at bay.
Waiting for others to chime in…
I would say sip on it throughout the day as your thirst dictates. The amount and ratio of ingredients will vary from person to person and depend on what you’re eating. … or not eating. If you tend to eat a lot of avocados for example, you may not need as much potassium (or any) in your water.
I start with 1/2 tsp pink salt per liter (quart) of water and only add potassium or magnesium while fasting, or if I start getting legs cramps at night.
What recipe are you using? If it’s zero calorie, it shouldn’t interrupt the fasted state. If it contains artificial sweeteners, it may cause an insulin response depending on the individual.
We used Brendas recipe. Just took the odd sip from it throughout my first fast this weekend. Coupled with Bone Broth every couple of hours I haven’t noticed any tough spots at all really. I’ve been hungrier after 2 hours when I used to eat carbs. Banana crash.
My last meal was at work 4:15am Friday. So as of this minute I’m almost 52 hours in. I’ll have to stop soon even though I don’t want to. I don’t want any accidents in my pants at work and I think I need to eat something to push something out. I haven’t sat on the toilet since Wednesday or Thursday. Don’t remember.
Thank for all the help.
Andrew
I just bought some magnesium citrate at Vons… it states on the label that it is a “effervescent saline laxative”. Do I have the right stuff?
