How many ketoers/low carbers are there now worldwide? Any estimates?

Has anyone encountered any study or paper or poll regarding how prevalent keto has become?
Obviously the exposure of this way of eating has grown exponentially over the past few years, and I do find more and more ketoers around me, but I still encounter lots of people who have never really heard anything serious about this over and above a mention in a magazine or a tv short item on a talk show.
So how many of us are there? Thousands? Tens of thousands? A million? I would love to know what you think.

Good question! I hope there will be some answer but I’m very curious about the different countries too. Keto seems to be as unpopular in my country as it was 10 years ago and I doubt many people have a good basic idea about what it is. Paleo is the big thing.

@Elli I don’t know exact numbers, although there are a lot (over a million, I believe) people on the low carb facebook forum run by – oh heck, here’s an article (1.65 million people):

@Shinita Which country are you in?

Not sure but this is interesting. I would say a few million easily.

Will Keto and all the lc plans become mainstream? No clue but I doubt it but a lot of people are waking up more and more on the horrible manufactured food out there.
