Some forms of collectivism improve/enhance the human experience
How is Keto going to move forward in a world that is increasingly anti-meat and pro-vegan?
Only if If the individual isn’t compelled to adhere to the collectivist argument. Or more to the point that the basis of the given legal system determines that the ‘individual is sovereign’.
To dumb it down to the Vegan versus Keto debate, Peter Attia’s comments about the toxic ideologies of low or high carb group or any dietary group for that matter is in my opinion on the money.
What I find makes his advice so stimulating is his skepticism regarding the dogma associated with various dietary groups. In essence his knowledge about biochemistry, nutrition and exercise is way beyond that of a prototypical dietary fantatic who swears by a certain way of eating and for that reason I find him easily the most informative speaker on diet I have so far found. The podcast below goes a long way to demonstrating just how knowledgeable he is and nearly almost everything he says is backed up my exceptional personal testimony and science:
Even where the individual is an
arse
hole whose behaviour has serious, negative consequnces for others? No thanks.
I’m familiar with Peter & I’ve heard the podcast thanks
Who determines that an individual is an a-hole? You’d prefer thought police to determine who are a-holes? May be my idea of an a-hole differs to yours. Then what? Gulags for a-holes that don’t adhere to the collectivist stance?
Society will always police itself - some of us engage some of us choose not to. Anyhoo there is a difference between the ‘thought police’ & the ‘action police’. For example, in refusing to pay a worker a fair days pay for a fair days work you are committing an act of _
arse
_holery.
But this is totally off topic so we should agree to disagree & let the thread continue as intended by the OP.
I was vegetarian for 25 years - changed due to certain lab results showing vitamin deficiencies (and it costing around $60/month for the bottled supplements) - and then to address the midlife bodyfat multiplication despite not having a sweet tooth.
Am now nearly back to my happy veggie 30ish body, but with restored muscle mass and rejuvenated brainz! Who would have thought???
Yep I did great as a vegetarian for a lot of years but that was a lot of years ago!
It doesn’t have to, it simply has to effect the perception of reality.
I don’t worry about it because I live in the country. Fresh eggs (SO much better than store bought…even those that are supposed to be organic, free range, etc, don’t taste as good as “laid yesterday” eggs), and local beef to buy. If I wanted, I could buy whole cow’s milk straight from the cow, goat’s milk, etc. So if the world tries to go to vegan-ism, I’ll be protecting my neighbor’s cows with a gun. LOL
