How I remember..never again gonna be fat

#1

i am sure many of you have been up and down on the scales. I went from 260 to 199 on Atkins years ago and then back to 245. Now 182 and I started keto-ing March 15 at 236. That’s 54 pounds along with all my lipids, A1C returning to normal ranges cutting most of my meds out or in half.

So I have two backpacks. Full of bricks. One at home, one at work. Each weighs 50 pounds. I usually try to put them on and walk around a little bit and think 24/7…24/7.

Any reminders that you use to keep you on track? Maybe the really keto people don’t need reminders and it has changed who you are. Me, That old fat guy just wants to come out and play so I need the reminders.

Off to Buenos Aires next week. That is where I got disgusted one day and started keto last March.

I think your back pack thing is a fantastic reminder :slightly_smiling_face:

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #3

I remember every time I get down on the floor and get back up without help. Or make a trip down cellar to the laundry machines and back up without destroying my knee. And every time I mow the lawn and don’t have to spend two days in bed getting my strength back.

(Will knit for bacon. ) #4

I remember every time I sit down and can cross my legs. And I just realized I can cross my arms again, too! Or when I have to run from the parking lot into work in the pouring rain and I can still breathe when I get inside. Or when I clean my house and don’t have to let my back recover for two days. Or when I skip meals and don’t end up shaky and weak and clammy and ready to shank a nun for a box of cookies.

If there’s a downside to this WOE I haven’t found it yet.

I remember every time I walk up and down stairs normally and not one at a time. I remember when I lay in bed and can feel my hip bone. Thank you, keto.

This is a daily for me, and still hurts but getting better =)

Happy forum anniversary Paul =).

Actually I can barely lift that back pack now that I have 55 pounds in it. Makes me really wonder how I survived…

Omg! Shank a nun! I am laughing so hard. Also a knitter here.
