How bad is it if my carbs were really really low?

I hardly had any carbs yesterday. My macros are set up, of course, as 70-25-5. My fat ended up being a little above 70% and my protein was a little above 25%, but my carbs were way below 5%, like waaaaayyyyy low. I know carbs are a limit, but it Im thinking it cant be good if they are too low, right??

Not an issue. There’s no such thing as an essential carb.

Many people consume virtually 0 carbohydrates because they only eat meat.

And percents aren’t the most ideal way to look at it. Go by grams for carbs. Depending on overall calories, 5% could be 10g of carbs or 30g’s.

Just stick to below 20 net grams.
It doesn’t matter how much below. You can do zero carb if you want.

Oh ok, It made me a little nervous when I saw how low my carbs were. I was planning on having a salad yesterday for dinner but the night got away from me and just ended up eating some roast that was already made. Not like that a salad is hard to make, but ive been very particular in measuring my food and I honestly didnt want to take the time to measure everything, I was exhausted. So thank you for easing my mind

How long have you been doing ketogenic eating? If you are newer, being zero-carbohydrates might feel badly for you. Do you feel badly?

I encourage you to listen to some podcasts or read up about the carnivore diet and various theories about it. Many people are felling better and having great results. A theory for that is because it is like a detox/elimination diet effect. Some people are concerned that if you do not eat any vegetables at all then you lose the gut bacteria that digest them. However, some say that it is easy to regain them with probiotic, fermented foods. There is a lot of ideas about it right now and it is kind of popular in the ‘keto world’ right now. This is not meant to scare you, just let you know that there are some who are very for it, and some who are concerned.

Everyone’s keto is different, so assess how you feel with very low carbohydrates. How do you feel if you have a big salad or other types of carbohydrates?

Lots of people eat Zero Carbs. There is no essential carb, your body can make any glucose it needs.

We eat carbs because we like them, we don’t need them at all.

Since life without chocolate and wine would be so sad, I choose to eat some carbs. It is a personal choice.

Did you feel bad, did you want to binge on a carb today, did something occur to make you think you had gone too low carb.

Hi there,
Rarely do I get more than 3 or 4 grams of carbs a day. I feel fine, not sure if this helps you or not but wanted to reassure you you’re not alone!

Im almost a month in. I don’t feel bad, I just felt like it was toooo low. Im still trying to figure things out.I guess I felt kinda guilty not having any type of greens for the day.
