Hot Dogs on keto?

(Bob M) #21

What? What about Scotch?

Export only !

… which goes a long way to explain that bottle of Glenfiddich ‘15yr single malt sitting on our kitchen counter. Keepin’ it handy.

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #24

Like deep-fried pizza, this is another Glaswegian invention, by the way.

I shop at Costco regularly and my habit was to get a slice of pizza on the way out to my car. Now I get a Costco hotdog with no bun! I LOVE it! It fits right into my Keto plan. I try to stay between 13-20 net grams of carbs per day - usually I’m under 15 - which works for me. 1 Costco hot dog, with no bun, has the following:
5.0 net carbs
31.0 grams fat
18.0 grams protein
370 calories
PERFECT! And its a BIG dog, so I feel satisfied. Why not?

One dog per week is a treat and it fits, so why not?

Well gee, since you’re already at Costco, why not pick up a pack of Teton Grass-fed Beef Organic Hot Dogs (“Polish Sausages”) … they’re fantastic and have <1 gram carbs per dog. Taste awesome - just have to wait a few minutes until you’re home. Boil 'em, fry 'em, grill 'em. Can’t imagine how a Costco hot dog would be better than these?

#27

Got 'em! Actually, I have 2 packages in my freezer because I forgot I bought them and bought them again!

#28

Costco are better. They are delish!

Only 2? I think we’re up to 4 or 5 frozen packs these days
