Home A1C Test kit

I saw a Home A1C Test kit at Walgreens and was surprised since I’d never heard this talked about in any podcasts or blogs. Does anyone know if they’re reliable? Is it the same as the lab tests?

Good question, would like to know the answer my self as well. Thanks for asking.

If it isn’t too expensive, maybe purchase it and compare it against the lab test.

Here’s a more complete discussion, though somewhat equivocal on accuracy.

Yes. Match my doctor’s labs exactly. I’ve done home A1C every quarter for several years.

I used to use a1c now by Bayer until they shut it down. Walmart started carrying it under their brand relion but I think that’s gone. Seemed less reliable from relion

I would only personally pay if it’s immediate results not mail away. I can do that at the lab for the same price roughly and not have to deal with whatever health advise they have to offer
