I’m still a little while away from hitting my final goal but wondering how those who have already hit it have changed or not changed their WOE. Maintenance, fitness, cheating etc…

I’ve only been at my goal weight for about a month and nothing much has changed in my diet. I feel too god on this WOE to go back to eating carbage on a daily basis. The last time I did at a social evert I felt like crap for about 18 hours.
I sure don’t digest carbs the same way I used to, that’s for sure! My husband has been on maintenance for several months now and will have an occasional carb meal but then goes right back to keto and never more than 1 or 2 a week.
We both comment that after a normal-carb meal we both spend a lot of time in the bathroom as the carbs seems to produce a lot of solid waste we aren’t used to. My intentional carb meals are MUCH lower than his - like eating the bottom bun with a hamburger patty. And 7 french fries - yes, I count them LOL.
I don’t call it cheating because that isn’t how I think of it since it is almost always planned and I get right back to strict keto or fasting afterwards.
I’ve also been at goal about a month. I have not gone back to eating carbs, for the most part. I was just visiting relatives and did eat some popcorn, that’s about the extent of my carbage. I’ve had a few ears of corn this summer, too, and half a cup of frozen custard, but only once. I also feel too good to go back to carbs.
The best tip I have from a year and a half of maintenance ten years ago is to develop new goals for maintenance. Alex Rodriguez once said, you either go one way or the other. So, as Pops would say to Luke Cage, Always Forward. Even if it’s to a different health or fitness goal.
I’m not sure there is anything more important (to me personally) than this. First goal was weight, met and exceeded more than a year ago. Increasing mental clarity, ongoing. Increasing energy, ongoing. Eliminating stomach issues, ongoing. Eliminating skin issues, ongoing.
I think a big mistake many people make is not having continuing and evolving goals.
Maintenance should be about maintaining more than weight, it should be about maintaining a healthy Way Of Life. MY OPINION
I’m just interested to see where my body will settle. Maybe in the 170’s maybe in the 160’s who knows!
I am excited to see how much more I can eat once my weight levels out. (I already eat alot)
I hit my first goal of a 10kg loss this week
I probably have about 5-7 more kgs to lose.
When I hit that goal weight, I will up my calories fiercely and start working out!
