Himlayan pink salt?

Probably been discussed before, but who knows. I bought some pink Him salt and it is way saltier tasting that regular table salt. If I sprinkle table salt on a hard boiled egg, I have to use a lot to get the taste. Using just a pinch of Pink H results in much more taste.

If I have a recipe that calls for 1/4 teaspoon of salt, should I use pink H in the same measurement?

I understand table salt is 97% to 99% sodium chloride and Pink H is only 87% sodium chloride. Why does Pink tastes saltier? or am I just tasting all the other minerals.

your tasting the 13% difference of sodium chloride, correct you are tasting the minerals!

use 1/4 tsp but slightly under estimate the amount

I use him salt on everything

coffee, drinks, eggs, meat, avocado, fat bombs and everything else even salad and home made salad dressings

Himalayan salt is also composed of 97-99% NaCl. If it has more of a bitter taste it would indicate a higher KCl content. The difference between normal sea salt and Himalayan salt is merely the amount of impurities (metals, heavy-metals and other evaporites (gypsum and co)).

Regular table salt has dextrose in it.
