I live in Australia and do a lot of hiking (we call it bushwalking) and have recently done my first bikepacking trip too. I mostly walk solo and always stay low carb, if not entirely keto on my trips. I bought a food dehydrator to assist with my meal prep for longer trips.

I have booked my airfare and accomodation and was planning on going to Europe to do a 350km stretch of a Camino (Le Puy to Cahors, France) a little later this year. I may yet be walking here in Australia instead thoughas my travel insurance company are jerks and won’t cover me if I decide to cancel and also won’t cover me if I contract COVID-19 while overseas…so a pretty useless policy. Ah well, plenty of good walking to be had here in my country and at least I know should I fall ill I will receive good care that costs me nothing.

I can get into it but my wife wants no part. She is like “where do I plug a hairdryer in?”

I live in a beautiful state where hiking is easy hiking is just walking for pleasure just no one here hikes they’d rather get drunk or get high crazy people God give us so many days and to waste them is so sad

I’ve gotten back into hiking and backpacking in a big way over the past couple of years. And it may be one of the activities still safe in light of recent virus issues. Planning to start hiking segments of the Colorado Trail this year.

I stay low carb. Order meals from Next Mile Meals. Haven’t been disappointed with any of their options and it’s usually too much food for me, even after a full day of hiking.

My dream hike is the Highland Way, and northern trails along the lochs of Scotland!

We do have lots of options here in my own backyard.
