Higher ketones = lower hunger?

I’ve heard many times that higher ketones = lower hunger. That’s what they say in this podcast, for instance:

Personally, I have not had that. I cannot say that I have lower hunger with higher ketones.

In fact, I can’t really tell anything about higher ketones. That might be because this is my 13th year of keto, I’m not sure.

The only thing I know is – and this is because of Jardiance, which raises ketone levels – that ketones over 3.0 aren’t great for my mental state. I’m all over the place, I get weepy, etc. But otherwise, I can’t correlate higher ketones with benefits (or other detriments).

What happens with you?

I’m guessing that people vary a lot - and from what I recall people saying, there is a fairly wide range of experiences.

To generalize, higher ketones go hand in hand with lower ghrelin levels (ghrelin is the ‘hunger hormone’).
