High meat consumption is compatible with longevity and healthspan

Gorillas have an enormous hind gut with a microbiome capable of digesting plant material to release the fatty acids in for example cellulose. We, as humans, do not have this facility. Just compare our anatomies - we have short guts because we eat meat and fish - we have outsourced our primary food production to the herbivores.

I do not know where you are getting your ideas, but I think you are mistaken in your beliefs and nothing you say provides any evidence in support of your contention.

This section of the evidence from the Prof Tim Noakes trial tells us everything we need to know about the evolution of modern man, the size of our brains and the carnivore diet which enabled us to become what we are.

It is all backed up by evidence.

Really? Hmmmm?

The worst of the worst to derive any kind of sensible information? He is just as bad as Volek?

Dr Jeff Volek is a recognised and published author.

Professor Tim Noakes is a recognised and published scientist, author and in my opinion all round great guy.

Are your responses really the best you can come up with?

Look at the physique of a gorilla in comparison with the physique of a man. Watch all of the Tim Noakes videos through. Then try and find an argument which holds water.

I’m not sure but I think people with a healthy metabolism can live (with some difficulty) as a vegan. Most people here, Including me, are struggling with deranged metabolisms. A carnivore, or ketogenic diet, for this population, is probably the best solution. The ketogenic diet still allows for a fair amount of low carbohydrateVegetables. That should be sufficient for our gut bacteria.

This talk by Dr Rob Cywes gives us his theory about why high meat consumption is better than high plant consumption for health.

Dr. Volek has been one of the most prolific researchers of ketogenic dieting and pioneered exploring ketogenic diets for athletic performance. His research was likely fundamental to Dr. Noakes abandoning his many years work of studying and promoting carbohydrates as the ultimate fuel for running.
