Haven’t more than glanced at this study, so I don’t know how good it is, but the conclusion certainly seems plausible. Statins have been demonstrated to cause congitive problems, so it wouldn’t be surprising if higher LDL were associated with better cognition. Interesting, too, that they found an association between higher HDL and better cognition, as well.
It also seems to be true (from other research) that β-hydroxybutyrate helps clear up neuronal tangles and amyloid plaque.
