I just got back from annual urology visit and my doc says my calcium is a little high so to cut back on sodium. Thoughts? Not looking for medical advice FYI, just curious if anyone else has a similar experience.
High Calcium?
Blood work was fine just showed in urine. I’ll definately follow up though.
Did he offer up a reason for you to cut sodium, since your issue is with a totally different chemical?
Michael’s article doesn’t mention cutting sodium at all either. I’d be more concerned about my intake of K2-K7 vitamins instead of sodium since they help transport your calcium where it is needed in your body. Also any chance you had been fasting a lot lately and might have had some hydration issue going on when tested, as that could confound the test.
All the best getting this sorted out.
We discussed the hydration issue. I had just completed a half marathon distance trail run and a couple of shorter 10K runs, one at altitude, all within a couple of weeks of my 24hr urinalysis. I’m pretty sure my electrolytes were got wacked out in the heat. He didn’t seem to concerned but I try to stay on top of it.
High temps, running long races that can result in dehydration and he is wants you to have less sodium? He did say lower your sodium intake right? I’d forget that advice and make a big batch of ketoaide and get my body back in balance, and do lots of rehydrating. Ask for a retest in a month or so.
All the best in getting it figured out.
