Hey guys- what Keto App do i want to use?

(Kylie) #1

HI,

I have Cronometer, Senza, myketo, Keto Diet basic- blaaah and a few others on my phone.
I have been using Cronometer- but then i heard Senza was great.

Does anybody have an opinion on Cronometer or Senza… i like the idea of zapping bar codes

Any response is appreciated (i think

Apps?

I’ve always used My Fitness Pal (zaps barcodes) but when my subscription is up I’m going to start using the tracker that’s built in to my FitBit app as they’ve now added macro breakdowns to it.

Thanks for mentioning that addition to Fitbit, since I use both MFP and Fitbit. I log food on MFP and exercise through Fitbit.

I looked into Cronometer, but guess MFP has spoiled me. Cronometer seems to track more if something is in its database, but if it isn’t you have to create it, that is in the too hard basket for me.

That’s the same way I’ve been doing things, but can’t see the point in paying for MFP premium now that FitBit has that new feature. Even inputting the info into MFP, if it’s linked to FitBit then FitBit still picks up the macros and it seems good so far.

I only use the free version of MFP. Does premium give more nutrient details? As my macros % is my main concern not sure I would need additional info. What are you wanting to track more closely?

So you can scan labels now into your fitbit mobile app?

With premium you can set the macros by grams rather than percentages and that helps me. Also there’s no advertising which I really like.

Hey , thanks for your reply…
Perhaps i should look into my fitness pal again… I dont have a fit bit though- does that matter?
Does MFP track the macros also?

Im wanting to track my micro nutrients closer.
Im guessing i will look at MFP going by what is being said on here- but as long as MFP tracks micro nutrients…

Fitbit just feeds exercise data over to MFP where you can view extra calories if you eat your exercise calories. So you really don’t need one. MFP has a sister app that has a much larger and what appears to be more accurate calorie burn for exercises than MFP’s. MapMyFitness is the app. That can be helpful.

If you look under the MFP Settings, diary settings, you will have drop downs to select more than fat, carb, protein. You can even arrange them how you want to see them.

Many thanks for your time  … you have just saved me a heap looking around MFP…

  • I will have to upgrade to a paid MFP though i am guessing? (willing to do so, just wondering)

oh ! wait, i just saw the other message- yes, i do need to upgrade to premium… Ok- ta,

The only thing premium gets you is exact grams, and you can adjust them daily and a few more reporting options. I personally am comfortable using the macros settings, which shows grams but in 5 gram increments. I think they charge too much for premium. But if you need the exactness for health, it is far cheaper than dr. visits, tests, and meds. So go for it.

Ok thanks… You are right on all accounts. I will have a think about it. Ta
