I read that psyllium husks can help with reducing hunger but there’s something I need to know: does anyone know how long the whole Psyllium Husks take to be digested and expelled? Let’s say I take it at 8 AM, how many hours later will I expel it?
Help with whole Psyllium Husks
That can vary a lot we can’t really tell you what to expect, anything from 8 hrs. to over 72 hrs. depends on your gut health state.
Why take whole psyllium husks, it is so much easier to use them in powdered form, add to yogurt or recipes.
Personally, I don’t think they help with hunger. Protein and fats help with that not carbs/fiber.
No need for extra fiber on KETO/Carnivore. I agree with @collaroygal, eat protein and fats to not be hungry, not indigestible fibers and fillers.
Well… my n=1 disagrees. Ever since I travelled to Brazil and China 3 years ago I have struggled with soft stools and semi-diarrhea.
I don’t know what the foods did to my gut biome, but it changed.
I have to take psyllium capsules on a regular basis or take Immodium AD. Both work fine and I use them both. Wish I could give them both up
People are amazingly different but I experienced this too. Fiber does nothing to my hunger, just like vegetables and both are famous about filling us up. Oh and if I drink a glass of water or coffee, that doesn’t satiate me either :D… My body is old fashioned, I need nutritious food.
Satiation should be quite easy on keto anyway, if it isn’t, I would try to find the culprit, the bad item in my diet or problem with my lifestyle. If I am hungry, I eat.
