Help me to understand

I tried 16:8 IF 3 out of 5 days this week and I gained a lbs and my fasting blood sugars weren’t really effected until today, I had a spike of 180! Maybe it’s too soon to see the results of the IF? Trying to keep calm and keto on. Thoughts?

@Stewartba tell us a bit more about what your eating during your IF? There are many things that affect weight loss and gain.

Normal keto macros. About 1700 calories. Nothing crazy. I drank water during fasting and only had a few diet sodas during eating window. Kinda stumped.

Did you add salt to the water? Low carb regimens flush electrolytes, so you might have been low on them.

As aforementioned, What did your meals look like?

Hi @Stewartba, I noticed that in the sample meal you posted there are a couple items containing artificial sweeteners. I know that for me, any artificial sweeteners stalls weight loss. Have you considered an n=1 experiment in eliminating all artificial sweeteners from your diet for a fixed amount of time to see if that makes a difference for you? Perhaps repeat the week that you describe here only skipping or replacing the items containing artificial sweeteners.

You really think the jello did it? I’ve been eating it while just doing keto and I’ve lost,but you may be right.
