My Dear Keto Peeps… HEEEEEELLLLPPP!!!

Okay, so that was me trying really hard to actually make a peep. The truth is…i have lost my voice! I have never had it happen to me before. It is rather shocking that i open my mouth and try and speak and all that comes out is “squeeeeak” or whisper. I try and force words out and nothing actually comes out. I caught a cold two days ago, so, someone was guessing its a part of this cold virus i caught. So since i have not dealt with this before… here is what Im doing… but i need more suggestions…

Currently im taking
800mg extra strength advil
Tylenol Cough Cold Flu Complete 2 gel caps
25mg Zinc Chealte
7 iui drops of Vitamin D3
800mg Vitamin C Capsules 4x per day
Drinking hot tea(no honey or sugar)

Any one else have a suggestion or miracle for getting your voice back? I am supposed to go to a Birthday Party for a close friend and i cant even talk!!

10. Take a hot shower

The steam from a hot shower helps moisten your vocal cords and soothe your sore throat. Adding a refreshing essential oil, like eucalyptus, may also help.

Dab some essential oil on your palms and rub them together. In the shower, bring your hands to your face and breathe deeply.

You can also make a shower bouquet. If you hang some fresh eucalyptus from your shower head, the steam will extract the healing essential oil. Plus, it will make your bathroom smell like a spa.

One thing that always works for me: Garlic.

I crush the garlic with the flat edge of a knife until I can see some “juice” coming out of the garlic.

I scrape it up, say a prayer, put the crushed garlic on the back of my tongue and suck the juice. It is …um…an acquired taste and a bit “spicy”.

I do that 3 times in any day I have a terrible sore throat and my voice/throat is much better the next morning.

Obviously may not be able to do this if you are working but I find that I am not able to work anyway when it’s that bad.

Sorry you are down with something nasty! I lost my voice a few times, you know for me I tried a lot of junk but in the end it was kinda like time just gave it back to me so? Hope you do ok!!

Hi Heather, I had the same thing before Christmas. I’m a singer and had to cancel a concert I was giving. Sigh.

I had to write everything for four days. Only REALLY resting my voice helped. I also gargled with salt water, but it was really just the resting that helped. Resting and time.

The annoying thing for me is that it’s been a month and my singing voice is not all the way back to normal.

An interesting thing I’ve noticed about this particular virus is that I haven’t heard of any men getting the laryngitis, only women.

When I worked I was on the phone all day and often my voice would just give out. My go to was salted lemon and honey water. It usually took a couple of days to get my voice back and like Edith said, rest helps a lot too.

I didn’t have a cold adding to it, so keep doing those cold meds as well.

Hope you get well soon.
