I’ve been on keto since the beginning of April. I Can count how many cheat meals I’ve had on two hands. Really not feeling motivated to stay on it. Also I’m still feeling very lethargic most of the day, hardly any energy. And from what I’ve read, books and forums and articles in magazines, keto is supposed to give you incredible energy… Also, I don’t usually get hungry, which is great in theory but, the way I find out that I need to eat is that I feel incredibly sick like I’m going to pass out. I think I have low blood sugar. How do I deal with low blood sugar when I’m trying to not eat unless I’m hungry?
Help! I Need some motivation to stay on keto
Maybe you could post some information about what macros you aim for or what you normally eat in a day to see if people can give more specific advice.
Also, what is your height, age and weight? And do you have any health issues?
Female. 36. 160 pounds. 5’6". I aim for 70, 20, 10. But I usually end up 65, 20, 15. Health-wise. I have very low female hormones. And like I said low blood sugar. I also have very low blood. It runs 100 / 65 even when I was 9 months pregnant. This would be a great blood pressure for professional athlete but I am not a professional athlete. So this blood pressure has always seemed way too low to me but doctors are just like oh great your blood pressure is low and I’m like yeah oh great that means I feel pretty lowsy most of the day.
Electrolytes? It’s what plants crave. I mean it’s what ketoans crave. Sorry. Had to throw that idiocracy quote in there. Seriously though. Get more salt that you think a normal person should eat. I also take a 250 mg magnesium supp every day and I get plenty of dark greens, avocados, etc for potassium.
At 10-15% carbs I would say you are stuck in the zone of not actually being in ketosis, and therefore not being fat adapted.
Carbs should be 20g or less
Moderate protein
Fat to satiety
You are in a kind of no man’s land, hence none of the keto benefits.
