Hi all, thanks For listening I’m new here and doing keto for 3 months now. I use a ketoMojo and was reading at .8-1.2 every morning but recently seen it come down to 0.5 in the morning to LO the past two days. I’m not eating a lot of carbs at all. What gives. All in all I’ve only lost about 2-3 lbs. what gives??
I’m 150lbs, 39 , 5’6 and have a goal oand lose 10-15 lbs !

Thanks for any advice to keep me sane !

If your body is getting efficient at being in lipolysis and ketosis, you may be at a stage where excess ketones are reduced. If you are staying on a Ketogenic LCHF Diet, then ketosis is happening.
Post a log of what you eat if you want help diagnosing hidden carbs
As for weight loss, your minds concept of where you should be may not be where your body wants to be. As your body heals itself when running on the proper fuel supply, it will settle in on the healthiest composition. You cannot out think millions of yrs of evolution

Thank you @Rajseth Rajseth ! I had heard of body reducing ketones, I guess I didn’t realize I’d get there in 3 months. As an example below is what I eat:

7:00 am Morning: espresso with 1.5-2 tablespoons of heavy cream & 1 scoop collagen & 1 tablespoon mct oil

10 am. Keto English muffin (half) with cream cheese and smoked salmon

1:00 bouillon & bacon grease as a drink, and two slices of turkey breast with fresh moz cheese

4:00 decaf with 1 tablespoons heavy cream

6:00 hamburger with Swiss cheese no bun and small salad with olive oil and lemon juice.

You’re breaking your day up an aweful lot with feedings. Everytime you consume something, you raise your insulin levels. This hinders progress on Keto.

It’s far better to eat fewer times but up the amount you consume each time to carry you to your next meal.

That’s great feedback ! I’m appreciative of the community that can take a look at how I’m doing things to give pointers on what I may not know. I’m going to take your advice and reduce the number of times I’m eating to see if that helps !

maybe try to change things so you are not eating/drinking calories so often?

One of the goals of this WOE is to reduce the extended exposure to high insulin levels. Insulin goes up whenever you ingest carbs, and half as much with proteins, and a fraction (argued) as much with fat. Most Keto folks end up naturally eating one or two times a day. You may find that if you eat till all full, really full, sated even, you can then go much longer before eating again. This line that we have been fed about eating 27 tiny meals a day to lose weight is :poop: When you do eat, if you can try to contain the eating in a window that doesn’t encompass the entire day - you may see more progress. e.g. skip morning meal (if not hungry), break overnight fast at say noon, then have dinner around 7pm. that will give you 16:8, or 16 hours of not eating for 8 hours of eating.
Dont force it, go with how your body feels. Eat when your body tells you, NOT when the clock tells you.

I like that idea though. I would substitute the turkey breast (too lean) with a few slices of liverwurst, or salami - but the bouillon with bacon grease - nom nom nom

What @Rajseth says. And when you do eat, eat like you mean it.

@Rajseth & @Anniegirl9 you guys are on the same page. This feedback is really helpful !
I’m certainly willing to try it and report back on whether it’s helped. You’re right historically I’ve always been a muncher and coffee lover so I’m always feeding. Today will be the start of my new day

coffee with a tbsp of heavy cream is not much of a factor… but when you have your morning fatted up coffee - eat the other stuff too - maybe add some bacon as well.
then maybe you won’t be able to have the 1pm nom nom, and have dinner with more fat added.
also seems like you are not getting enough calories in…

I had to prioritize protein and match closer to 1:1 fat to protein to lose weight. Then I can swing a little bit higher in weight maintenance. A tiny bit more fat than protein.

It’s true. I’m keto because I fast 18:6. I do give my body a chance to eat its own fuel, when needed. Chase results, not ketones. Higher ketones =/= fat loss for me.

I’m so optomitic @Anniegirl9 @gardengirlkp and @Rajseth. I’ll make you proud and report back in a few days how I’m doing with this new way, and how your advice has kicked up my metabolism to burn more of my fat ! Fingers crossed. and I’m excited to EAT like I mean it

Follow Jason Fung’s holy trinity
1- Eat when Hungry (if tempted to have a snack - eat enough to make it a meal!)
2- Eat till satiated/full (full enough that you couldn’t imagine eating another lamb chop)
3- Don’t eat when NOT hungry (regardless of whether it is time for breakfast, second breakfast, elevenses, lunch, etc… thanks Tolkien)
