Help.. Headaches & hunger
I have one final question: I am dying to have a steak for dinner but if I add everything it puts me way over my proteins with just an 8 oz steak. Can I still eat it and be ok? Like if my protein is higher than fat for the day do i have to worry about getting kicked out of ketosis? Sometimes I feel like 60 g just isn’t enough protein. I had 2 eggs and 4 strips of bacon for lunch but now I only have 30 grams left and I want a steak lol should I just save it for a day when I have just one meal??
I’ve always been curious about this “shrinking of the stomach” theory. Is it a medical “thing?” I’ve been a picky eater since I was a child, and get full very easily, yet don’t think I have slowed my metabolism. Before going dairy-free I was about at 1200 calories, now, I’m at 800. I’m actually eating a wider range of foods and feeling satisfied. I add nuts every few days to up my calories.
Don’t worry about protein so much. In low-carb conditions, protein stimulates both insulin and glucagon secretion in equal measure, so the insulin/glucagon ratio stays low, and we remain in ketosis. If your body is telling you you need more protein, listen to it.
Also, because macros are calculated as percentages of calories, and fat is twice as calorie-dense as protein, it is hard to get more protein than fat. For example if you ate 60 g of protein and 60 g of fat, you’d be getting 31% protein and 69% fat (60 x 4 + 60 x 9 = 780; 240 / 780 = 31%; 540 / 780 = 69%). To get your protein and fat macros to equal each other, you’d have to eat 2-1/4 times as much protein as fat by weight.
Idk honestly… It just felt like my stomach was small because I could never eat very much at one time. I was a HUGE grazer. I never ate a full meal.
I googled. Shrinking stomach is not a thing unless you have surgery. There we go!
