Help, food for hikes

#1

Hi all !

We are going on a 2 week holiday next friday. During the holiday we wil be doing 5 , 5 to 7 hour hikes.
i am about 3 monthes in to keto but the idea to go on a hike that long without my “trusty” carbs (wraps with ham and cheese  german sourdough bread, apples, banana’s and some dextro tabs just in case  ) still scares me a bit.

maybe someone can give me some good idea’s for foods to take :relaxed:

i was thinking :

  • nuts
  • boiled egg
  • bell pepper

maybe some sliced deli meats ?

You can still wrap meat around cheese. We just got back from hiking in Canada and the only thing I took with me was water. You really only ‘need’ food supplies when your eating carbs or if you will be in the wilderness hiking multiple day.

I start my backcountry hike days with a shake of dry ingredients mixed with filtered water. Two scoops of protein, two scoops of coconut oil powder, two tbl of instant coffee

body fat

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #5

Pepperoni, pre-cooked bacon, nuts, cheese . . .
