Help! Dark chocolate

(Adriana Ro) #1

I bought some dark choccolate (85 per cent cocoa) and it does contain a bit of sugar (as third ingredient). It contains 18g of total carbs (I count total carbs instead of net carbs) per bar (100g). Would eating like 10g of this choccolate a day Kick me out of ketosis?

Sorry for my bad English

It should not.

No, take one square and enjoy it. It’s 1,8g carb pr 10g.

I eat 2 squares of dark most days, 7 carbs. I enjoy it much!

(You've tried everything else; why not try bacon?) #5

You might eventually get to the point of enjoying unsweetened chocolate. It used to taste very bitter, almost inedible, to me, but eventually my taste changed, and I enjoy it quite a bit.

It will kick you out of ketosis

why

because you are kidding yourself when you say you will only eat 10 g a day.

you will end up eating the entire bar.

no, but if you don’t want to waste a carb on one tiny piece of chocolate, try making your own without ANY sugar! I make delicious chocolate bars and eat about 1/4 of the whole bar each day … the entire bar is like 1 net carb but I wouldn’t eat the entire thing personally, because I watch total carbs (not net), and try to fill myself up with meats and cheese primarily. It’s a great recipe, using 1 oz baker’s chocolate, 4 tablespoons of butter, tsp of vanilla, pinch of salt, and powdered erythritol to taste (and personally I keep the sweetener low, because if it’s too sweet I WILL want to eat the whole bar. So just enough to be a yummy little treat). Pour into molds and freeze. Viola!
