Help- 3 month stall

(Shannon) #1

I have lost 105 pounds but in the last 3 months I am loosing 5 then adding 3 to 4 back. I can’t seem to break 261.

I am loosing inches but nothing is showing on the scale. I’m not working out - just clean house about 3 days a week.

I’m so ready to get under 250. How can I get the scales moving again. Exogenous Ketones helped me break a stall and my weight started gng down again … but now I’m stuck again.

What the best carb tracker? Should I cut out Stevia candy & my diet Pepsi?

From what I have heard - yes.

I have heard several things:

  1. Artificial sweeteners can cause insulin to rise - you may be keeping your insulin elevated if using too much and/or too often.
  2. Artificial sweeteners can hurt your gut’s ability to work correctly. I think this can cause many problems. If you can’t absorb nutrients well you’ll become deficient. If you cannot absorb calories well your body may think it is a calorie deficit diet mode and slow metabolism.
  3. Artificial sweeteners can interfere with your regular satiety signals. If you depend on eating to satiety, you want to stick to more bland foods that you probably won’t overeat. Throwing in sweet after a salty meal might cause the same meal to get longer or cause the next meal to come sooner or be bigger.

If you’re losing inches but not weight, congratulations: you are losing fat! Whatever you’re doing is clearly working, but if you want to speed that up it’s probably worth at least temporarily cutting out sweeteners for all the reasons RobC gave to see how you personally react.
