Hello just started

(John 9) #1

So I have a blood glucose meter and got 74 mg/dl after a meal. Did it in the morning the other day before a meal and I got 65 mg/dl. So I don’t even know what a good number is to be in ketosis. Any help would be appreciated. Plus I got these Land O frost oven roasted turkey slices I’m wondering if they’re keto friendly . I see soy so I’m guessing no?

The thing I don’t like about it is the number of ingredients. I usually have a rule: if there are more than 4 ingredients, it is not for me. I prefer foods that don’t need labels!

However, technically, this is an ok keto food, as long as you smother it with a fatty sauce or eat a side of butter with it. You’ve got protein 10, fat 6, and carb1 there, so you should make sure you eat it with other fat.
Cheers

There is sugar in it so I’d say no to bring keto friendly

Just grab sliced turkey at the deli and your more or less fine. The minimal amount of actual sugar in that is less of a problem overall than the “flavorings” “turkey flavor” maltodextrin, and nitrites. Somethings wrong when they have to flavor TURKEY to taste like turkey. I’d eat it, but in the future replace it.

also see the word soy on the package, so with everything mentioned above would not be in my cart

Thanks for the quick responses. The serving size is for 9 slices BTW and I only use 3. I eat them with eggs and usually add some mayo to them. But what about the blood numbers? What numbers are good for ketosis? mg/dl

A normal range of fasting BG is 65-100.
