That is soooooo horrid that they are serving that to diabetic patients at your hospital; that is so sad. Working there as a nurse; that must be heart-wrenching for you to be witnessing this daily as well.

But I bet it’s cheap. 
I live in a retirement community where we get breakfast plus one other meal (independent living). I cringed when I saw those green beans, because we get them like that sometimes. Whenever I get groceries delivered from Walmart, I always get some fresh green beans. They taste SO much better than canned green beans.

It is not your fault though, but I am sure that it is very upsetting and frustrating.

Sad. Looks like the “heart healthy diet” my son’s hospital provides. Sadly, I can find him healthier food at the restraunts. I supplement what I can and he’s not even keto.
