I’ve had a head/chest cold for 3 or 4 days now and have seen a significant decrease in my ketone levels…more each day as the symptoms increased. Is this normal/have others experienced the same? Am I probably right that this cold is the cause or should I troubleshoot something else?

Your body requires excess energy to heal itself, and it takes them from ketones. Your blood glucose levels may elevate some too.
The only readings that I’ve ever found to be consistent while sick our breath ketones via the Ketonix.

@tdseest nailed it the head cold I’ve had for 2 weeks is really croup with possible pneumonia. My BG is higher and my ketones are quite low. Additionally, the codeine syrup has a bit of sucrose in it. I stopped tracking b/c there’s no point in using up my strips.

Adding to thread: I have had the opposite…Increase in Ketones…Maybe mild low level dehydration?!
