I have done keto for short periods over the last 9 months, longest being a month and a half. Well I’m determined to make it more permanent. The last week I have been super strict eating mostly eggs and sausage bacon etc to get into ketosis.
Well when I test my blood using keto mojo I can’t get above 1.4. Today I checked and it went down from yesterday to 1.3.
This is odd because in the past I always would be super high like 4 to 6. I even posted on here last year because my keto was so high.
I am using different test strips so am wondering if they could be off or something? Or is my body just resistant to keto now since I have kind of yoyo’d keto?
Having trouble getting into deep ketosis
I was just listening to Jimmy Moore and he mentioned it can take months for some people to get into deep Ketosis. Try not to focus on that though. Surely, you must feel better just by sticking closer to Keto. Keep up the good work!
The number of ketones in your blood is based on your body’s demand for energy. You may notice that blood ketones are lowest after waking because we require very little energy to sleep. They might also be low after a meal because the small amount of carbs we eat become prioritized for energy and there’s less need for ketones. Ketone levels are likely to be highest between meals and fasting because that’s the time we need ketones the most since there is nothing in our stomachs to fuel the process.
I tried to fast and see how that affects my keto test. I last ate yesterday at about 2pm, 4 hours later had a tough workout and fasted. Haven’t ate in 19 hours and just tested my keto is athe 1.3. That seems really odd to me. I’ve been strictly eating for 9 days and haven’t cheated once. Is something wrong? Could test strips be off? I just don’t get this.
